Vera Pearl Barrett

	Vera Pearl Barrett, age 95, of Pinckneyville, IL, died Friday, August 6, 2004, at 2:25 a.m. in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital Skilled Care Unit.
	Pearl was born on January 21, 1909 in Benton, IL, a daughter of Whitsel and Susa (Little) Smith.  She married Encil Paul "Fat" Barrett in Pinckneyville on May 29, 1935, and he preceded her in death on September 28, 1974.  Pearl was a garment worker for the Pinckneyville Garment Factory and loved gardening, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her nieces and nephews and also taught Sunday school.  She was a member of the Roe's Dale Baptist Church in Pinckneyville and was actively involved in Church activities.
	Survivors include two sisters-in-law; Dorothy Uhe Smith and her family, and Bernice Smith and her family, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
	Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers; Nobel, Diamond, Stanley, and Billy Smith, and two sisters; Jewell Ahlers and Betty Hill.
	Funeral Services were held on Monday, August 9, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in the Roe's Dale Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, with Reverends Shaw Dement and Charles Smith officiating.  Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
	Friends called at the Roe's Dale Baptist Church on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until Services.
	Memorials may be made to the Roe's Dale Baptist Church.
